Soledar City: Then and Now
The American company Maxar has published two satellite images on its Twitter account, depicting the extent of destruction in the city of Soledar, located in the Donetsk region.
The first image, taken on August 1 of last year, shows the entire city with houses, buildings, and green areas. The second image, captured on January 10, 2023, reveals a snow-covered landscape where almost no structures are visible.
Prior to the war, the city had a population of around 11,000. Reports indicate that fewer than 500 residents remain in Soledar now, and evacuation has become impossible.
