Problems in the Region Must Be Solved Through Cooperation: What Raisi Told Putin
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi discussed current issues on the Russian-Iranian agenda during a telephone conversation, emphasizing the further development of the entire spectrum of bilateral cooperation. The presidents expressed support for the consistent implementation of mutually beneficial projects in the energy and transport-logistics sectors, as noted in a statement from the Kremlin.
The parties positively assessed the close coordination established within the framework of the Astana process, which plays a key role in the resolution of the Syrian conflict. They expressed readiness to continue cooperation aimed at stabilizing the situation in the Syrian Arab Republic and restoring its territorial integrity.
According to the Iranian side's statement, Raisi addressed the Caucasus, stating that regional issues should be resolved through cooperation. He noted, “The Islamic Republic has always emphasized the necessity of strengthening regional integration and the harmfulness of foreign intervention in regional affairs.” The presidents also discussed the situation regarding Ukraine.
