Prices of Essential Goods Have Increased
The Armenian Statistical Committee has recorded inflation in the consumer market. Compared to November of the previous year, consumer prices rose by 1.0-1.1 percent across all cities in the republic, with prices in Yerevan increasing by 1.1 percent. This is reported by Armlur.am.
Several essential goods have become more expensive. ArmLur.am has learned that the price of bread increased by 0.3 percent in December compared to November of the previous year. However, over the course of a year, bread prices have surged by 14.3 percent. The prices of flour and sugar have also risen.
In addition, the prices for food products and non-alcoholic beverages have increased by 2.4 percent over the month. According to official sources, the prices of food products and non-alcoholic beverages in the capital city have risen by 2.3 percent.
The price of eggs has also gone up, with a recorded 6.6 percent inflation in the poultry market from November to December. Prices for butter and confectionery have similarly increased, with butter prices rising by 4 percent over the year and by 0.3 percent from November to December.
Flour has seen a decrease in price by 0.6 percent, although it has increased by 7.6 percent over the past year. A similar trend is observed in the markets for cheese, lentils, pasta, buckwheat, peas, and margarine. These products have all become more expensive in comparison to the same period last year, although they experienced minor price decreases in December compared to November.
