Armenia Deems CSTO Exercises Inappropriate Amid Current Situation: Prime Minister
The joint exercises of the Collective Security Treaty Organization's peacekeeping forces will not take place in Armenia this year, as the country has deemed the conduct of such exercises inappropriate in the current situation. This was announced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a press conference.
“The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia has already informed the CSTO Unified Staff in writing that we do not consider it appropriate to conduct such exercises in the Republic of Armenia in this situation. And these exercises will not take place in the Republic of Armenia, at least not this year,” said Pashinyan.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense had announced that a joint exercise of CSTO peacekeeping forces, called “Indestructible Brotherhood-2023,” would be held on Armenian territory.
