The United States remains committed to promoting a secure, stable, democratic, prosperous, and peaceful future for the South Caucasus region, said State Department Spokesperson Ned Price during a briefing yesterday.

“We continue to be engaged bilaterally, with like-minded partners such as the European Union, as well as through international organizations like the OSCE, to facilitate direct dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia to find solutions to all issues related to or arising from the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” Price stated. He reminded of the American efforts and organized meetings while emphasizing that they want to see the parties making progress on their own, and that the comprehensive resolution of the conflict is not up to the United States to decide. “It is the hard work that the parties themselves must undertake,” the State Department spokesperson said.

“We are engaged on a daily basis and will continue to work closely with the parties through bilateral, trilateral, and OSCE means, as well as other partners, to help achieve that final status,” Price noted.
