Wooden Walking Stick Featuring Serial Killer's Portrait Discovered
In Britain, two police officers have discovered a wooden walking stick engraved with the only known identifiable likeness of Jack the Ripper. The artifact belonged to an investigator who attempted to catch the elusive murderer but was unsuccessful, leading to his dismissal from the police force. The find is now being showcased to recruits to clearly illustrate how far technology has come.
The police believe that a man known as Jack the Ripper brutally murdered at least five women over a three-month period in 1888. The killer would slit the throat of each victim and mutilate the bodies in a way that suggested he had a thorough understanding of anatomy. The maniac apparently reveled in the fact that he could not be captured. For instance, at one point, he sent half of one of his victims' kidneys to the police along with mocking letters.
