French Ambassador Summoned by Turkey's Foreign Ministry Over Kurdish Protests in Paris

The French ambassador has been summoned by Turkey's Foreign Ministry regarding the anti-Turkish propaganda of the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) during protests held in Paris, a diplomatic source in Ankara has informed RIA Novosti.

“Today, the French ambassador to Ankara, Hervé Magro, was summoned to Turkey's Foreign Ministry, and our response was expressed regarding the black propaganda against our country by PKK/PYD/YPG circles in connection to the attack on a French citizen in Paris on December 23, and the involvement of French government officials and certain politicians in this matter. Our embassy in Paris has also communicated our response to the relevant French authorities,” the source stated.

According to the source, “Ambassador Magro was informed about Ankara's position that it would be beneficial for the French government and public opinion to correctly analyze the violent actions carried out by the terrorist organization in the streets of Paris.” “Turkey's expectations were emphasized, that France would act sensibly in light of the aforementioned incident and would not allow the terrorist organization to advance its nefarious plans,” the source highlighted.
