Turkey's Foreign Minister: Armenia Must Also Take Sincere Steps

Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, currently in Turkmenistan, spoke to reporters about relations with Armenia. "We have made gestures for confidence-building steps. But it is necessary for everyone to take action. Armenia must also take sincere steps. They should respond sincerely to our sincere approach, and we, as Azerbaijan and Turkey, will respond to that sincerity. It does not matter who looks where, to the East or the West. There is no need to hope for help from others. As countries of the South Caucasus, we must take steps for our peace and stability. This is the foundation. Otherwise, there is no benefit or interest for anyone from abroad, whether from the East or the West," he stated.

Addressing the Turkish-Azerbaijani military exercises, Cavusoglu mentioned that they are natural allies, but they have already officially become allies with the Shushi declaration. "Therefore, it is perfectly natural for two allied countries to conduct military exercises, cooperate, and implement joint educational programs. This does not pose a threat to any country or any side," he added.
