More than half of Donetsk has been 'liberated' by Russian forces, says Pushilin
Denis Pushilin, the leader of Donetsk, has stated that Russian forces have 'liberated' slightly more than half of the territory in the region.
Donetsk is one of four regions in Ukraine that Moscow has annexed, citing the results of referenda that Ukraine and the international community do not recognize.
In a video published on the Russian news website RIA Novosti, Pushilin said that the goal is to liberate the entire area of the region. ‘Our units are doing everything possible for this to happen as soon as possible,’ he said.
Recently, battles have been ongoing in the central part of the Donetsk region, particularly for the city of Bakhmut.
