Georgia Will Not Provide Military Aid to Ukraine
Georgia cannot and does not intend to provide military assistance to Ukraine. This was stated by Mamuka Mdinaradze, the head of the ruling "Georgian Dream" parliamentary faction, as reported by RBC.
Earlier, Andrey Kasyanov, the temporary chargé d'affaires of Ukraine in Georgia, mentioned that Kyiv had repeatedly approached Tbilisi with requests for military or dual-use equipment. However, according to Kasyanov, these appeals have been ignored.
"Georgia provides full and unequivocal political support to Ukraine. It also provides humanitarian aid within its capabilities, but we cannot and will not provide military assistance," TASS quotes the Georgian parliamentary leader.
It is explained that Georgia has its own issues in the face of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, thus Tbilisi will not provide military support.
In the spring, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili stated that Georgia does not intend to join the economic sanctions against Russia. Following that, Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly accused Georgia of supporting Russia by circumventing the imposed restrictive measures.
