We need more than moral support. This was stated by the President of Artsakh Araik Harutyunyan in an interview with the French media network France24.

“We hope that France will not be limited to that, and this support will serve as an example for other countries, who will also engage in the resolution process of our conflict, which is being initiated by France,” Harutyunyan mentioned.

He noted that they are aware they are on the brink of ethnic cleansing and a new genocide. “We must raise this issue; leaving Artsakh alone means subjecting its population to physical annihilation.”

When asked, if Artsakh were to disappear, would Armenia be next, Harutyunyan answered, “Definitely. Under the pretext of the Zangezur corridor, Azerbaijan and Turkey are claiming all of Armenian territory.”

In response to whether they would agree to autonomy within Azerbaijan, Harutyunyan stated, “We are ready to coexist with Azerbaijan as neighbors, but the question of independent status cannot be up for discussion.”
