Turkey Offers a 'Hand of Peace' to Yerevan, Says Minister
During the "Fraternal Fist" military exercises involving Turkey and Azerbaijan, held near the borders of Armenia, Turkey's National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar declared that a "hand of peace" has been extended to Yerevan. This was reported by the Anadolu Agency.
“We sincerely hope that Armenia will not leave unanswered Turkey and Azerbaijan's hand of peace,” he stated. At the same time, he emphasized, “Any threats or provocations directed at Turkey or Azerbaijan, regardless of their source, will be recognized as a common challenge for our brotherly countries.” He noted that Ankara and Baku consider “both friends and enemies to be common.”
In conclusion, the Turkish minister highlighted the importance of opening regional communications in the South Caucasus, including the so-called "Zangezur Corridor."
