Concerns That Azerbaijan Is Planning Genocide Are Becoming More Concrete, Says Pashinyan
The phenomenon of genocide is being viewed not only as a historical occurrence but also as a current threat and danger. This statement was made by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the 4th Global Forum Against the Crime of Genocide.
"Preventing genocide is a real issue. Today, the threat and danger of genocide in our region are seen as an urgent phenomenon requiring prevention. Recently, more and more alarms are being raised by the population of Nagorno-Karabakh regarding genocide as a threat. We must take these alarms seriously," said Pashinyan.
According to him, it seemed that the trilateral statement of November 9 created mechanisms to protect the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh from potential genocide, but later, we witnessed realities that make these concerns more concrete. Pashinyan also noted that today there are systematic actions that make the fears that Azerbaijan is indeed planning genocide in Nagorno-Karabakh more concrete.
