Macron on the Intentions of Russia and Western Countries
French President Emmanuel Macron believes that his country and other Western nations do not aspire to the destruction of Russia.
According to APA, citing TASS, the French leader stated this in an interview with American CBS television journalists, which was published on Sunday. According to Macron, Moscow allegedly feels a "certain indignation" and thinks that Western countries aim to "destroy Russia." "I don't think that is our intention; we have never had that intention in France," he said.
"Moreover, we have very close cultural and historical ties, and we have always respected the Russian people," he assured.
Macron also stated that he has had "very long conversations" with the head of the Russian state. The French president emphasized that during such conversations, "there was a clear understanding that Russians are a great people with a rich history."
