Dоzhd TV Channel Fires Journalist Who Called Russian Army 'Ours'
The Dоzhd TV channel has fired journalist Alexei Korostelyov, who referred to the Russian army as 'ours' during a broadcast and stated that the channel assists mobilized citizens of the Russian Federation with technology.
‘We are against Russia's war in Ukraine. Formulations on air that may raise doubts about our position are unacceptable. Therefore, we have decided to terminate cooperation with this journalist starting today. This is a very difficult decision for us, but the management of Dоzhd considers it the only truthful and possible course of action,’ said the head of the channel's information service, Ekaterina Kotrikadze.
The Latvian government has also taken action and fined the channel 10,000 euros, threatening that if such an incident occurs again, the channel’s broadcasting will be suspended.
