Czech Ambassador Summoned by Georgian Foreign Ministry
The Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Georgia, Petr Mikiska, has been summoned by the Georgian Foreign Ministry to clarify his statements regarding the export of Czech products that are entering Russia while circumventing anti-Russian sanctions, the ministry's press service reported on Friday. This information was provided by RIA Novosti.
“The Czech ambassador has been summoned to the Georgian Foreign Ministry. The reason is his statement published in the media, in which he mentioned that some of the products coming from the Czech Republic to Georgia are being exported to Russia while avoiding sanctions,” the statement said.
According to the ministry, Deputy Minister Alexander Khvtisiashvili reiterated the actions that Georgia is taking in response to such claims and demanded that the ambassador provide detailed clarification of his remarks.
