Who Stole the Bronze Statue 'Boat Swimmer' of the Yerevan City Hall
Mkrtich Hovhannisyan has been charged with stealing the bronze statue valued at 2,383,500 AMD, named 'Boat Swimmer', belonging to the Yerevan City Hall. The theft reportedly occurred on March 14, 2021, between 01:40 and 02:50 in the park dedicated to the '2800th Anniversary of Yerevan'.
According to information from ArmLur.am, Hovhannisyan, along with unidentified individuals, is also accused of stealing construction tools belonging to the 'Father and Son Manvelyan' LLC from a storage facility adjacent to the same park. Additionally, he illegally acquired and possessed a homemade drum-fed pistol classified as a rifled firearm, along with two types of ammunition consisting of carbines, rifles, and other rifled weapons suitable for firing factory-manufactured 5.6 mm caliber rimfire hunting and sporting cartridges under unclear circumstances.
