Pashinyan on Meeting with Raisi
Today’s agenda focused on regional cooperation. There are many opportunities for developing cooperation between the two countries, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a meeting with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, according to MiranPress.
Pashinyan’s official visit to Iran was previously announced. The Prime Minister noted that he accepts Iran's principled views on peace and security in the Caucasus region. According to him, the Islamic Republic of Iran can be a clear symbol of peaceful cooperation and coexistence among followers of different religions.
“I provided Raisi with information about the tripartite meeting that took place in Sochi yesterday, and I agree with the Iranian president’s opinion regarding the establishment of stable peace and security in the region,” Pashinyan stated.
He also added that Iranian authorities should be aware of the issues being discussed in the negotiations, particularly regarding relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as Armenia's relations with Turkey concerning the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
It is noteworthy that Iranian media had earlier reported that he traveled to Tehran at the invitation of Raisi.
