“The Bird is Free”: Elon Musk

The American billionaire and founder of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, has commented on the completion of the Twitter acquisition deal. On his personal page, he wrote: “The bird is free.” Twitter users have expressed hope that with Musk's arrival, there will be “real freedom of speech” on the social network.

At the same time, some commentators have expressed concerns that Musk's presence in Twitter’s leadership could lead to an “authoritarian disaster.”

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that Musk had promised to finalize the acquisition of the Twitter microblogging service, valued at $44 billion, by October 28. According to the agency, he made this statement during a video conference with bankers who are “helping to finance” the deal to purchase the social network.
