France's Foreign Ministry Responds to Putin's Statement
France's Foreign Ministry official representative Anne-Claire Legendre disagreed with Russian President Vladimir Putin's assertion that the special operation in Ukraine is aimed at combating Western supremacy. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
“What Vladimir Putin is trying to do is bring us back to a situation where we revert to the logic of military alliances. However, we want to avoid such a division related to peace,” stated Legendre.
It is worth recalling that the Russian president claimed that the regime in Kyiv, with the support of the West, has publicly abandoned the Minsk agreements, and that NATO's expansion is unacceptable for Russia. He noted that it is not Russia but the West that has brought about the current situation in the world and the events occurring in Ukraine, including the special military operation.
