Armenia Gave Up Nothing to Russia, Yet Putin's Government Supported Attacks on Armenia
Vladimir Putin essentially states that he previously suggested Armenia transfer 5 regions from Nagorno-Karabakh to Azerbaijan without clarifying the status of Artsakh, but the Armenian authorities rejected this proposal. This was expressed by Daniel Ioannisyan, coordinator of the NGO 'Informed Citizens' Union', on his Facebook page.
'Essentially, what Putin is referring to concerns the territories that were not handed over by Serzh Sargsyan and Nikol Pashinyan. However, Vladimir Putin avoids another critical issue: Azerbaijan recently launched an attack on Armenia, and Russia did nothing to stop that attack. Armenia has given up nothing to Russia for its security. We joined the EEU, handed over gas monopolies, transferred entire energy resources, and even refused association with the EU. Yet, in return, Vladimir Putin's government not only refrained from condemning the aggression but also offered political support for the attack on Armenia.
After 'betraying' Armenia to such an extent, Vladimir Putin is now attempting to shift the blame onto the Armenian authorities. This is the height of cynicism,' he wrote.
