European Union to Provide Ukraine with 1.5 Billion Euros Monthly from 2023
The European Union will allocate 1.5 billion euros to Ukraine each month starting in 2023 to support its resistance against the Russian invasion. This was announced yesterday by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, as reported by BBC.com.
She made this statement in Brussels during a summit of EU leaders, marking the 240th day of the Russo-Ukrainian war. "It is very important that Ukraine has predictable and stable income. Ukraine has informed us that it needs between 3 to 4 billion euros monthly to cover basic necessities," von der Leyen stated.
It is expected that the remaining required funds will be provided to Ukraine by the United States. According to the European Commission President, the EU has already provided 19 billion euros in aid to Ukraine to date.
