Certain Groups and Units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces Are Surrounded, Says Chief of General Staff

“If we are here, then this is the direction where the enemy has achieved certain success as a result of its offensive operations and has penetrated the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia with a front of 8.5 km and a depth of up to 7.5 km,” stated the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Edward Asryan, during a meeting with diplomatic representatives.

“The penetrations of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces were carried out by groups and units, and certain groups and units are currently under the direct control of our subdivisions and are also surrounded,” he added.

“Currently, groups of Pakistani Armed Forces units are located 4.5 km away from the outskirts of the town of Jermuk,” said the Chief of General Staff.

Earlier, it was reported that representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Armenia visited the town of Jermuk, where they will familiarize themselves with the damage inflicted on the city’s civilian infrastructure as a result of Azerbaijan’s attack and receive information on the operational situation on-site.
