Two Bodies Found in Kotayk: Husband Kills Wife and Jumps from Bridge

A brutal murder occurred today in one of the houses in the village of Nor Geghi, Kotayk Province, where a man fatally stabbed his 71-year-old wife. The information was reported by Shamshyan.

The police received a call about the incident around 07:40. Upon arrival, officers and investigators discovered the body of the homeowner, 71-year-old Svetlana Avagyan.

"According to the preliminary conclusion of the forensic expert, there were several traces of sharp cutting and piercing injuries on the body," the site reported.

Meanwhile, another call was received at the police regarding a body of a man found under the Nor Hachn bridge.

According to the site's information, it was determined that the body found under the bridge belonged to 73-year-old Samvel Aleksanyan, a resident of Nor Geghi and the husband of the deceased. Preliminary information suggests that he killed his wife and then committed suicide by jumping from the bridge.

A criminal case has been initiated in the investigation department of Nairi regarding both incidents. The investigator has ordered forensic examinations of the bodies.
