Energy Crisis Could Last Weeks, Months, and Years: German Chancellor
“Today we are concerned about our energy security. This could last weeks, months, and years,” said German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
According to him, the German government has already made numerous decisions aimed at preparing the country, particularly for the gas deficit.
“However, in the long term, we are talking about becoming independent from fossil fuel imports,” the chancellor stated. He emphasized the importance of expanding renewable energy sources and added that several laws have been adopted in the past week for this purpose.
“This is a pace that has never been seen in Germany before, and it is necessary. At this speed, we will also be able to become a climate-neutral, economically strong, industrial country,” promised Scholz.
