Azerbaijan Promised to Return Prisoners, But Has Not Done So
During a meeting on April 6, the President of Azerbaijan promised, in the presence of the President of the European Council, that prisoners would be released. However, in our subsequent confrontation, we noted that this promise has not been fulfilled. This was stated today by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a live broadcast on Hraparak channel, in response to questions regarding the return of prisoners from Azerbaijan.
"It was recorded that a promise was made, but the promise has not been fulfilled," he said. Pashinyan also noted that the President of Azerbaijan attempted to attribute a promise to him that he did not actually make. "The Azerbaijani leader tried to ascribe a promise to me that I have also promised something regarding the communications of the transit routes, that I allegedly promised to present specific coordinates about the route. However, I naturally did not make such a promise, as our position is that we will start discussing the routes only after we come to a consensus on the legal regulations," he said.
