Video: Polish MP Throws Fake Money from Balcony in Protest
In Poland, opposition party members have staged a protest in the Sejm (the lower house of parliament) against the actions of the National Bank and the highest inflation rate seen in the last 24 years.
During the swearing-in ceremony of National Bank head Adam Glapiński, MP Klaudia Jachira threw pieces of paper printed as banknotes at the audience from the balcony. Soon after, security personnel escorted her away.
Jachira stated that her actions were intended to "demonstrate the consequences of excessive printing of worthless money."
