Arthur Vanetsyan became the face of the Republican Party during the last elections, leveraging his 'revolutionary' rating to the fullest for Serge Sargsyan's agenda. Subsequently, Sargsyan proclaimed Ishkhan Saghatelian as the leader of the opposition.

This was stated by David Khajakyan, a member of the Yerevan City Council, on his Facebook page.

In the post, he also mentioned: 'How politically inexperienced must a person be to have their party's only mandate, be the head of the faction, and in the end hand the keys of the faction to the Republican Party and leave?'
