Alen Simonyan on Vanetsyan's Resignation Request
RA National Assembly President Alen Simonyan has issued a statement regarding the resignation request of MP Arthur Vanetsyan. Vanetsyan announced today that he is resigning from his parliamentary mandate, thus discontinuing the "I Have Honor" alliance formed with the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA).
The Assembly President reminded that there is a specific procedure for the resignation to be considered accepted. "According to Article 155, Paragraph 2 of the ‘Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly’ constitutional law, if within one week of the public announcement of the resignation, the MP withdraws their resignation request in writing, the President of the National Assembly makes an announcement about it. If the resignation request is not withdrawn, a record is made regarding the cessation of their powers, which is signed and published by the President of the National Assembly," said Simonyan in his statement.
It is also noted that from the moment of the publication of the record, the resignation is considered accepted.
