Following the Wiretapped Phone Call: Vanetsyan Made a Significant Statement, Then Refused to Explain, Ioannisyan
IKM program coordinator Daniel Ioannisyan writes: “Weeks ago, former NSS director Arthur Vanetsyan gave an interview stating that during his tenure, the organizer of the well-known (Vanetsyan-Khachatryan phone calls) wiretapping was identified and brought to Armenia from abroad, but was later released due to illegal interference. Naturally, we had requested law enforcement to investigate this case and clarify the circumstances of the alleged illegal interference mentioned by Vanetsyan in the criminal case.
Just recently, I received a letter from the Anti-Corruption Committee informing us that Vanetsyan has refused to provide explanations to the authorities regarding his statements. I leave the conclusions to the readers.”
