During the First 100 Days of the Russia-Ukraine War, Russia Earned Nearly $100 Billion from Gas Sales

During the first 100 days of the Russia-Ukraine war, Russia earned $98 billion from the export of energy resources. This was reported by the BBC, citing a report from CREA.

The majority of the supplies were directed to EU countries, according to the report from the Finnish Center for Energy and Clean Air Research (CREA). According to the study, 61% of Russian exports were consumed by the EU, amounting to purchases of $60 billion. The main consumer countries were Germany, with over $12 billion, and Italy, with nearly $8 billion.

Among the countries of the Union, the leading importer of Russian oil and gas is China, which made purchases exceeding $12 billion.

In early June, the EU agreed to almost completely cease the import of Russian oil and is also prepared to reduce the consumption of Russian gas by two-thirds by the end of this year, despite Europe's significant dependence on Russian energy resources.
