The U.S. Opposes Any Escalation in Syria, Says Blinken
Washington is opposed to any escalation in Syria, stated U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, according to РИА Новости.
In this context, Blinken commented on Turkey's potential new military operations in Syria. He indicated that the U.S. is "concerned that any offensive action could disrupt regional stability" and "allow malicious actors to exploit the instability for their own purposes."
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had announced that the armed forces would begin anti-terror operations within the country’s borders.
