Israeli Citizens Urged Not to Travel to Turkey and Other Countries Bordering Iran

The Israeli authorities have urged their citizens to refrain from visiting Turkey, as well as other countries bordering Iran. This announcement was made by the Israeli government's press service, referencing the country's National Security Council's office for combating terrorism.

"Particularly after Iran accused Israel of being involved in the death of an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps officer, Israeli security agencies have heightened concerns that Iran may attempt to carry out assaults on Israeli targets worldwide," the statement noted. "The National Security Council and security services advise considering warnings related to travel to Turkey and reaffirm that currently Turkey presents a high risk for Israelis."

On May 22, unidentified individuals opened fire in Tehran on the vehicle of Colonel Hasan Sayad Khodai of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, resulting in his death. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps categorized the incident as terrorism, while Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi stated that retaliation would be sought for this assassination.
