Papikyan Meets With Commander of Russian Peacekeepers
On May 27, Armenian Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan welcomed Major General Andrey Volkov, commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Artsakh. The meeting was also attended by Colonel Igor Shcherbakov, the defense attaché of the Russian Embassy in Armenia.
Major General Andrey Volkov presented the current situation and developments in the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping unit in Artsakh to the Minister of Defense of Armenia. The participants acknowledged the efforts of the Russian Federation aimed at stabilizing the geopolitical situation in the region, as well as the progress and effectiveness of the Russian peacekeeping mission in Artsakh.
During the meeting, opinions were also exchanged regarding regional security issues.
