Bayramov on Armenia-Azerbaijan Relations
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, has informed participants of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers about the normalization of relations with Armenia, Azerbaijani media report.
Noting that Azerbaijan respects international legal norms and principles, including state sovereignty and territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders, the minister emphasized that these principles are the foundation for global peace, security, and stability.
“The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister informed the participants about the current situation in the region and the steps taken towards normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The minister stressed that efforts are currently underway aimed at normalizing relations between the two countries. Bayramov pointed out that the meeting held in Brussels on April 6, with the participation of the President of the Council of Europe, had a positive impact on this process.
Furthermore, the minister highlighted that as a result of the meeting, tasks were assigned to the foreign ministers of both nations to begin preparations for a peace agreement and to establish a joint border commission aimed at demarcation and delimitation,” the media reported.
