"I Won't Say If He Has Been Questioned or Not, How Many Times, Etc." - Chief Prosecutor

“A criminal case has been initiated since last year and is under investigation by the Anti-Corruption Committee. The subject of the investigation concerns the actions of the military-political leadership in preparing for the 44-day war and the causal connection with the results of that process. The report from the parents of fallen soldiers relates to statements made by the Prime Minister during a session of the National Assembly; these statements have already been forwarded from our side, and thus, the material presented in that report was sent again to the Anti-Corruption Committee for further investigation,” said the Chief Prosecutor of Armenia, Artur Davtyan, in a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly.

Journalists inquired whether the Prime Minister has any procedural status concerning the numerous statements he has made regarding the war. “Any public statement regarding the subject of the investigation, whether from the Prime Minister or anyone else, requires that those individuals be questioned. The preliminary investigation body needs to receive explanations from him on numerous questions. As for whether he has been questioned or not, how many times, etc., I must refrain from commenting on that at this moment,” responded Davtyan.
