Inmate Found with 17 Packages of Drugs Secured to Back After Court Return
The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia continues its daily fight against the circulation of drugs and prohibited items in correctional institutions. This information was reported by the Ministry's Penitentiary Service.
On March 29, 2022, around 18:30, officers of the Armavir Penitentiary Institution conducted a search of the inmate K. H., who had been returned to the facility from the first instance court of Armavir region.
As a result of the search, 17 packages were discovered, secured to his back with adhesive tape. The packages contained large quantities of substances resembling various drugs: a green substance weighing a total of 226.13 grams, similar to marijuana; a brown, powdery substance weighing 37.04 grams, resembling heroin; a white, powdery substance weighing 4.34 grams, resembling cocaine; a white, crystalline substance weighing 5.09 grams, resembling methamphetamine; and a brown, plant-like substance weighing 4.62 grams.
Materials are being prepared on the incident. A forensic and forensic examination has been appointed.
