The Evacuation Corridor in Mariupol is Under Shelling
The evacuation route from Mariupol, which is surrounded by Russian forces, has started to come under shelling. This information has been reported by the BBC.
Oleg Nikolenko, a spokesperson for Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced that Russian troops have begun shelling the humanitarian corridor between Mariupol and Zaporizhzhia. According to him, 8 trucks and 30 buses are on their way to deliver humanitarian aid to the city, after which evacuations will take place.
The Russian Ministry of Defense had previously stated that Ukrainian military forces are obstructing the evacuation of civilians from the city.
