White Powder Envelopes Delivered to Russian Embassy in Australia
On March 3, envelopes containing white powder of unknown origin were delivered to the Russian Embassy in Australia. This information was reported to the TASS news agency by the diplomatic mission.
"The police, firefighters, and other emergency services are currently working here to inspect two envelopes containing white powder that were delivered to the diplomatic mission," the embassy stated.
The Russian consulate in Sydney informed TASS that they receive threats regularly; however, despite this, Russian diplomats and staff at the consulate continue to operate as usual.
The Russian Embassy also confirmed that various types of threats had been received previously, but those threats were limited to posts on the embassy's pages on Twitter and Facebook.
In a televised address to the Russian people on the morning of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced his decision to conduct a special military operation aimed at the demilitarization of Ukraine. He stated that the circumstances require "decisive and immediate actions from us, as the people’s republics of Donbas have appealed to Russia for assistance." He assured that Moscow's plans do not include the occupation of Ukraine, but rather its demilitarization and denazification.
