Russia and Armenia Agree on Draft Agreement: Security Council Office
On February 10, 2022, Armenian-Russian intergovernmental consultations on ensuring information security were held in Yerevan. This was reported by the office of the Armenian Security Council.
The delegation, led by Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, O.V. Khramov, included representatives from the Security Council staff, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Digitalization, the Ministry of Justice, the Federal Protective Service, and the Prosecutor General's Office.
The Armenian delegation, headed by the office's director, Hayk Petrosyan, consisted of representatives from the Security Council staff, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defense, Justice, the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, the National Security Service, and the “EKENNG” LLC.
During the consultations, there was a substantive exchange of ideas regarding the issues of ensuring information security in both bilateral format and within international and regional platforms concerning Armenian-Russian cooperation in all areas.
Attention was drawn to the results of the first substantive discussion of the Open-Ended Working Group responsible for IT applications established within the framework of the UN for the years 2021-2025. The importance of strengthening international cooperation in combating information crimes was emphasized.
The importance of expanding efforts to ensure information security within the frameworks of the CIS, CSTO, and OSCE was reaffirmed.
Based on the results of the negotiations, a draft bilateral agreement on cooperation in the field of information security was agreed upon at the expert level.
