Video: Refused a Loan, He Set Fire to the Bank in India
In India, police have arrested a man who set fire to a bank branch in the city of Karnataka after his loan application was denied. According to Oddity Central, 33-year-old Wasim Hazaratsab Mullan applied at the state-run Canara Bank for a loan of 1.6 million rupees (approximately $21,600). His application was rejected due to discrepancies in the submitted documents that violated the bank's lending policy.
This rejection angered the applicant so much that he smashed the bank’s window, poured flammable liquid inside, and set it on fire. Firefighters managed to extinguish the flames before they could destroy cash, gold, and other valuables in the bank. In total, the bank suffered damages of $16,000.
