Accident on Yerevan-Sevan Highway: Victim Reported

On January 18, at 15:11, information was received at the Kotayk regional crisis management center that an accident had occurred near the "Verin Akhta" restaurant on the Yerevan-Sevan highway, with casualties reported.

A firefighting and rescue team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene. It was revealed that vehicles involved in the collision at the 43rd kilometer of the Yerevan-Sevan highway were a "Lada Priora" (driver: O.G., born in 1983) and a "Vaz-2106" (driver: G.V.).

Before rescuers could reach the scene, the passenger of the "Lada Priora", M.H. (born in 1974), was extricated from the vehicle by local forces; he succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital.

Rescuers de-energized the vehicles, closed the gas cylinder valves, and assisted the "Lada Priora" driver O.G. to the ambulance. The injured driver was hospitalized at the Hrazdan medical center, where doctors assessed his health condition as satisfactory.
