Roads Closed and Impassable in Armenia: Ministry of Emergency Situations
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are closed and impassable roads in the territory of Armenia.
The road from Amberd Fortress to Kari Lake in Aragatsotn region is closed. The M-1 road in Shirak region towards Musayelyan, Krasar villages, and the Amasia-Berdashen roads are difficult to pass.
The Vardenyats mountain pass is impassable for truck trailers, especially when chains are not used.
In Syunik, Vayots Dzor, and Aragatsotn, as well as in Lori and Shirak regions, there are areas with black ice on the roads. In the cities of Kapan, Kajaran, and Meghri in Syunik region, snow is present.
Snowstorms are occurring in the area known as "Meghri Mountain" and in the village of Shinohayr in Syunik region.
Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
