Azerbaijan Announces Verbal Agreement Between Azerbaijan and Armenia
Verbal agreement has been reached on establishing a delimitation commission between Azerbaijan and Armenia, according to reports from Azerbaijani media, announced by Farid Shafiyev, the president of the Center for Analysis of International Relations.
“I think we will not be able to reach the signing of a comprehensive document regarding the peace agreement this year. A majority of the population in Armenia voted for Nikol Pashinyan, but every third person is against him. This should be taken into account. Some organizations in Armenia do not support Pashinyan's policies,” said Shafiyev.
While such statements are being circulated from Azerbaijan, it is noteworthy that Pashinyan has repeatedly announced and insisted that it is necessary to start the delimitation and demarcation work with Azerbaijan as soon as possible. The Russian side, at levels of President Putin and the Foreign Ministry, has also made statements on this matter.
