Russia Demands Explanation from Turkey: Lavrov
Moscow has demanded clarification from Ankara regarding a statement made by an assistant to Turkey's president about the use of CSTO forces in Kazakhstan. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced this during a press conference dedicated to the outcomes of Russian diplomacy in 2021.
“A somewhat unclear statement was made by one of President Erdoğan’s advisors in Ankara, who simply condemned the actions of Kazakhstan in relation to seeking assistance from the CSTO. We have asked our Turkish counterparts to explain what this means,” said the Russian minister.
