A fire broke out today at the 'Lenta' shopping center in Tomsk, Russia. The fire affected an area of approximately 5,000 square meters.
It is reported that the blaze engulfed the entire building, causing the roof to collapse over an area of 3,500 square meters. Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries. About 200 people were evacuated from the shopping center.
Over 70 personnel and 24 units of equipment from the Ministry of Emergency Situations have been involved in extinguishing the fire.
It has been revealed that the hypermarket was set ablaze by an employee of the contracting organization, who was working in the sales area. He simply wanted to test fireworks inside the building. He has already been arrested and has provided a confession.
