Photos: Twitter User Living in Azerbaijan Publishes Church Bell of Armenian Origin Inscribed with Shushi

A user registered as Cavid the Self-Orientalist on Twitter, who reportedly resides in Azerbaijan, has published snippets of a church bell of Armenian origin on his account, publicly acknowledging it as Armenian.

He wrote that he was shown this bell from the church by a resident of the village of Nidzhi and was asked whether the inscription was in Caucasian Albanian. In response, he stated that the inscription on the bell is in Armenian. Interestingly, the text of the presented find ends with the word Shushi.

The post included the following: 'One of the most interesting materials presented to me by a Udi from Nidzhi (a village in the Gabala district of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a compact settlement of Udis, editor’s note) was this church bell. I was asked whether it was written in Caucasian Albanian, and I answered that it was Armenian. It seems that ԱՓՐԿԻՉԵԿԵՂԵց is abbreviated from Ա (ՄԵՆԱ) ՓՐԿԻՉ ԵԿԵՂԵց (Ի) or 'Church of the Holy Savior' 1832.'
