What Will NATO Do If Moscow 'Invades' Ukraine
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, responding to questions about the potential 'military invasion' of Ukraine by Russia, stated that Kyiv is not part of the alliance, which means it does not have the same security guarantees as its member states that are obligated to defend each other in the event of an attack.
According to 'RIA Novosti' citing American sources, Stoltenberg also expressed the opinion that Ukraine has the possibility of becoming a member of the North Atlantic Alliance.
Kyiv and Western countries have recently been voicing concerns about the deployment of Russian troops near their border.
