In Case of Unblocking, Who Will Control the Railways and Roads? Mher Grigoryan Provides Details
In the event of any unblocking in the region, the railways and roads will remain under the jurisdiction of Armenia. This was stated by Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan in response to questions from 'News' regarding the term 'Zangezur Corridor' used by Azerbaijani and Turkish sides.
Grigoryan also provided details about the discussions of the trilateral working group established between Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan concerning the clarification of railway and automobile routes. 'I reaffirm that the process of unblocking communications does not imply the provision of any extraterritorial corridor. I also confirm that in case of unblocking, both the railway and roadways will be fully under the jurisdiction and sovereignty of Armenia.'
'Currently, issues are being discussed exclusively regarding the restoration of railway routes from the Soviet era and the sequence and timeline of their operation. Issues regarding specific automobile routes and ensuring safety are still under discussion,' Grigoryan responded.
