How Intelligence Services Spied on iPhone Users
Apple has filed a lawsuit against the Israeli NSO Group, accusing the company of developing software to spy on iPhone users, BBC reports.
The corporation aims to obtain a full ban on the use of any software products, services, or Apple devices related to NSO.
In the summer, journalists revealed that intelligence services from at least 10 countries had used the NSO Group's Pegasus program to spy on politicians, journalists, and activists.
The NSO Group has denied the accusations and assured that its program is intended for combating criminals and terrorists, and is only provided to states that respect human rights.
The Pegasus program was uncovered during a joint investigation into cases of data leaks conducted by 17 publications, including the Washington Post, Guardian, and Le Monde.
Pegasus was created by the NCA Group, which was founded in 2010 by two Israelis. It is located in a suburb of Tel Aviv. Since 2016, the company has provided its software to intelligence agencies, law enforcement, and military organizations worldwide.
